Handling Formatted Text

The "formatted text object" allows you to create mail merges and more with all the formatting options of a small-scale word processor. And thanks to the RTF control, you can offer end users word processing functionality too – either as a modal window or, depending on your programming language, as an in-place control.

Formatted Text Object RTF

The formatted text object allows you to create mail merges and more with all the formatting features you are accustomed to using in word processing programs. If you link several RTF objects and allow text wrapping, you can enable multiple columns of text to flow around images and tables.

RTF Control

If you are using .NET, Delphi or VB, you can integrate the formatted text object (RTF) as an in-place control. One benefit of this option is that it’s possible to restrict users to only inputting text via this control, preventing them from making general changes in the Designer. This way, you can adapt your application to your individual requirements.
