How to Visualize Data Quickly and Easily
to Enhance Your Reports

The List & Label Designer has gained several top features, for example the possibility to visualize values relative to aggregates such as maximum/minimum value or total. On this page we will show you how to integrate such graphics into your own project.

To generate an article list, in which you sort the price of a single item into a segment, just do the following:

1. Select Object Type
The data graphic can be integrated either as an object or in a table. Just select the data graphic object from the object toolbar. In the workspace, hold down the left mouse button and pull the object to the required size. If you choose to report in a table line select the "Data Graphic" item from the available column types in the table object's dialog.

2. Define Values
Choose for example stars for your visualization. Set the minimum value on 0 and the maximum to Precalc(Maximum(Item.UnitPrice)), the latter will search the data for the highest price. Set the value you want to visualize to Item.UnitPrice.

3. Output
That's all! Your output now shows the data graphic for each article. The amount of stars in this example represents the corresponding price segment. The different segments can be distributed non-linear depending on your requirements. For example all articles which are worth less than a Dollar are displayed with one star and all items worth between one and twenty dollars with two stars an so on.
