Software developer combit rolled out version 13 of its global player: the List & Label development component. Fitted with numerous new features, the tool promises "reporting for heroes"; even better support for the ambitious developer. License model and support concepts have been renewed to provide what customers want. In the course of introducing the new version the two subscription versions of the product, Professional and Enterprise, will be available in addition to the Standard Edition. The new version provides real added value to software developers' applications, states combit. Thanks to property lists, new chart types, exploded views of pie charts and a completely new rendering engine, amongst other things, a new face has been successfully created for chart presentation. In order to produce an attractive and space-saving layout, tables can now be repre-sented with multi-columns. There are, for example, group headers as column subtitles, a List & Label field that specifies the current column and a column break condition for table rows. The List & Label object model (DOM) facilitates free access to almost every object property, e.g. enables dynamic project creation or can be used to program your own pareddown Designer. The preview usually displays results within the fraction of a second, while printing is still running. Larger, internationally-operating companies will be happy to hear about the Unicode exporter. The export module is now available as a pure Unicode version whereby Unicode texts can be safely transferred into the required format. Additional highlights of the new version include support of the QR barcode format, which distinguishes itself by its generous error tolerance at a high density of data and fast scanning capacity.
