combit’s report generator List & Label now supports Visual Studio 2005

Just in time with the release date of the eagerly awaited Visual Studio 2005, the software producer combit presents a special VS.NET 2005 version for its report generator List & Label 11. The updated .NET component is downloadable for all customers and prospects, it’s free of charge and includes a variety of samples. Thanks to this List & Label can be seamlessly implemented into all projects using the very latest Microsoft development environment.

Already since the alpha stage of the product formerly codenamed „Whidbey“ combit straightly followed its progress and consequently implemented support for the very promising features of the new IDE. For this reason, the new component is not only a plain recompile for the Framework 2.0, but also consequently makes use of the new options of the Microsoft development environment.

Smart Tags make development faster and easier. The "Nullable Types" which are new to the Framework version 2.0 are automatically detected and passed type safe either as value or "Null". The DebuggerDisplay attribute is declared for some of the classes – in this way, the custom designer functions and objects, for example, are displayed with their name in the Debugger. Also, the new data source selection dialogs are supported by the component's property editors. The web reporting samples have been revised. As a result, they can be smoothly converted into the VS.NET 2005 format, and still can be used with the same codebase for all .NET versions.
